She holds a B.A. in Environmental Communications and an M.S. in Environmental Science\, and has experience as a librarian and teacher. Sophie uses botanical and landscape illustration in her interdisciplinary research as a Ph.D. student at SUNY ESF in Upstate New York\, and has led workshops in scientific illustration and nature drawing with diverse groups of participants of all ages.
